Representative of the Southeast cluster, Mr. Le Duc Dat – Deputy Head of Foreign Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union – expressed his emotion when participating in the Dien Bien Phu Journey – River aspirations through relics and historical places History of Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien.

Witnessing with his own eyes the cramped, cramped prisons and crime, and the brutal prison regime of the French colonialists, he became more deeply aware of the suffering of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for independence and freedom.

He confided that the journey helped him and the delegates of the Southeast cluster see the responsibility of young people in striving and promoting their expertise in building and protecting the country.

On the same morning, the delegation also organized a visit and gave gifts to the school, doctors, and students in the medical examination program “For a healthier Vietnam” at To Hieu primary school and started construction on the Happy House in the commune. Chieng Xom, Son La city.

The former youth volunteer left his entire family with only the fields, vegetable garden and a few chickens. The income is only enough to eat a bowl of rice and soup to get by. A few years ago, the youth group covered the roof with fibro cement to protect from the sun and rain.

“I really hope to have a new house, my daughter is a kindergarten teacher, my other son has to work far away, it’s also difficult, he can only help with salt and rice, so I hope to have a sturdy house and live in peace of mind,” he said. speak.

On the same day, the group held an incense offering ceremony at the Martyrs Temple in the historical and cultural relic site of Pha Din Pass, Thuan Chau, Son La. This is where we and the French colonialists battled our wits about ensuring logistics.

Pha Din Pass is a high point, seen in all directions, considered “death’s door” blocking the supply route to Dien Bien Phu. Tens of thousands of young volunteers, civilians on the fire front… bravely opened the way to the front.
