On April 25, Dong Nai General Hospital held a ceremony to announce diamond certification for stroke treatment from the World Stroke Association (WSO).

This is the highest standard of stroke treatment today. Thereby, making Dong Nai General Hospital the first provincial hospital in the country to achieve this noble certification.

According to Mr. Ngo Duc Tuan – Director of Dong Nai General Hospital, from January 2018 to March 2024, the hospital has treated more than 6,700 stroke patients, ranking among the top in the country in terms of number of patients. this cause.

Over the past time, thanks to the solidarity and smooth coordination between departments, the hospital’s quality of stroke treatment has continuously improved.

Accordingly, in June 2019, Dong Nai General Hospital was one of four hospitals honored to be awarded the gold standard certification for stroke treatment by the European Stroke Association.

The following year, the hospital continued to receive platinum standard certification from WSO, being one of three hospitals in the country to be honored.

“Today, the hospital is honored to receive diamond certification, the highest standard awarded by the World Stroke Association. This is excitement, pride and great encouragement for the staff and employees. , doctor in the hospital,” said Mr. Ngo Duc Tuan.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Thang, vice president of the Vietnam Stroke Association, president of the Ho Chi Minh City Stroke Association, assessed that in recent years, Dong Nai General Hospital has made clear developments in stroke treatment. Achieving diamond certification shows that the hospital’s quality of stroke treatment has approached world treatment standards.

According to Mr. Thang, the highest goal in stroke treatment is not to save the patient’s life, but so that they can return to normal life, be able to exercise, and work again.

Dong Nai alone is a locality with a high population density. To meet the requirements for stroke treatment, in addition to the four existing stroke treatment units, Dong Nai needs six more stroke treatment units.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Son Hung – Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee – congratulated the achievements that Dong Nai General Hospital has achieved in stroke treatment.

Having specialized, high-quality hospitals in the area will help people not have to travel to higher-level hospitals or abroad for medical examination and treatment. It saves costs and saves time and effort for patients and relatives.

At the same time, Mr. Hung suggested that the medical staff of Dong Nai General Hospital continue to make more efforts, actively research and improve medical knowledge. In the future, artificial intelligence (AI) will be applied to medical examination and treatment to meet people’s needs.
