Efforts to repair the power grid after a natural disaster in Phu Yen

The thunderstorm, tornado, and hail that occurred on April 20 in Phu Yen and Bac Yen districts greatly affected the power grid system, causing widespread power outages, with tens of thousands of customers. Son La Electricity Company has gathered human resources and means to urgently fix the problem and ensure power supply is restored.

Leaders of Son La Power Company encouraged workers to participate in overcoming power grid problems in Phu Yen district.

Phu Yen – Bac Yen Regional Electricity is managing and operating 911.5 km of medium voltage lines, 809.57 km of low voltage lines, 507 transformer stations, a total of 48,866 customers in the two districts of Phu Yen and Phu Yen. Bac Yen. The thunderstorm and tornado caused huge damage to property, especially in Phu Yen district. Strong wind gusts broke 11 110kV power line poles; 3 35KV lines and 1 22kV line were damaged, causing power outages in Phu Yen district. The incident caused widespread power supply disruption, with 45,893 customers, belonging to 466 transformer stations, losing power.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of Son La Power Company, said: Although the incident caused widespread power outages, the Company was proactive in implementing plans to prevent natural disasters, industrialization and forecasting. The room was fully stocked with materials, equipment, and hundreds of workers, so troubleshooting was done very urgently.

In the past few days, along with the efforts of the Electricity industry, local authorities and people in the area have coordinated, created favorable conditions and supported construction units to overcome problems and ensure safety. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Nhan, sub-area 4, Phu Yen town, said: Sharing the hardship of electricity industry workers in overcoming and repairing to soon restore power supply, people in the sub-area have voluntarily participated. With the efforts of the Electricity industry, by the end of April 24, the electricity system in the two districts was basically repaired and power was restored to 45,290/45,893 customers.
