Over the past 30 years of formation and development, the Cooperative Alliance of Soc Trang province has played a core role in the development of the collective economy and cooperatives. Now, conscious There are 229 cooperatives, 1 Cooperative Union, an increase of 58 cooperatives compared to 2003. Soc Trang is one of the localities with the highest number of cooperatives in the Mekong Delta, with a total of over 30,000 members. Average profit reached 338 million VND/cooperative/year; New cooperative models have been formed, linked to the product value chain; Achieved 3-star and 4-star OCOP product certification. Cooperatives have applied advances in science and technology and have made positive contributions to the province’s socio-economic development in recent times.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Cong Luan – Director of Agriculture and Fisheries Cooperative 14/10 Hoa Ngo A, My Xuyen said, nThe support and assistance from agencies and sectors has contributed to promoting the development of cooperatives. Accordingly, the Agricultural and Fishery Cooperative 14/10 Hoa Ngo A, My Xuyen was approved by the Provincial People’s Committee awarded Certificate of Merit (period 2010 – 2015) for excellent achievements in the emulation movement “Innovation of agricultural cooperatives” according to the 2012 Law on Cooperatives.
Recognizing and praising the achievements that the Cooperative Alliance of Soc Trang province has achieved in recent times, Mr. Huynh Lam Phuong (photo above) – Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, Head of the Southern Standing Agency proposed , in the coming time, the Cooperative Alliance of Soc Trang province needs to do a better job of propaganda about the Law on Cooperatives, continue to grow in quantity but must go hand in hand with consolidation; Find ways to support cooperatives to sell products.
