‘Non bamboo shoot reading station’ brings knowledge to Kien Giang children

On April 23, INSEE Vietnam held a handover ceremony of the bamboo shoot reading station at Binh Tri Primary and Secondary School (Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province) with the participation of local leaders, school administrators and other partners accompanying the project. After 2 months of construction, the Young Bamboo Reading Station was officially realized and contributed to bringing vast knowledge to students in remote areas.

The Bamboo Shoot Reading Station project is the subject of the INSEE Prize 2022 contest from students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) who have overcome more than 200 competing topics to achieve the title. highest position and supported by INSEE and partners for practical implementation.

The group of students directly participated from the initial steps of project implementation, from adjusting design drawings, surveys and construction supervision, and the project was officially handed over to the Primary – Secondary School. Binh Tri in Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province.

Mr. Le Thanh Huong, Chairman of Kien Luong District People’s Committee, shared at the inauguration ceremony of the Bamboo Shoot Reading Station project – Champion of INSEE Prize 2022: “The Bamboo Shoot Reading Station project has contributed an important part to the development goal. education locally, especially in Binh Tri commune, where there are many ethnic minorities who do not have much access to educational facilities.”

With the humanistic meaning as well as the sustainable value that the Young Bamboo Reading Station brings, the project has received companionship from partners including: Kingspan Co., Ltd., Nippon Paint Vietnam Co., Ltd., Joint Stock Company REE refrigeration mechanical parts, REE Electrical Appliances Joint Stock Company, GreenViet Green Building Consulting Company Limited, Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) and Conwood Vietnam.

Bamboo shoot reading station brings knowledge to Kien Giang children

The most special feature of the Young Bamboo Reading Station is that the project does not emit CO2 during operation thanks to the use of construction materials and equipment with low carbon emissions and green certificates such as cement. INSEE, Conwood wood cement, Nippon paint and roof system solutions for well-insulated buildings using Kingspan panels, Reetech energy-saving air conditioners and REE solar battery systems…

The young bamboo reading station was honored to receive Lotus Green Building certification (Gold rank) from the Vietnam Green Building Council. After being put into use, the reading station covers an area of ​​more than 60 m2 will meet the need for access to books of more than 600 students and teachers here.
