(PLO)- People passing Ben Thuy bridge discovered gold rings, phones, shirts… left on the bridge. They suspected that someone had thrown themselves into the Lam River, so they reported to the police.

On the evening of April 24, search and rescue forces and fishermen were trying to find a man suspected of jumping from Ben Thuy bridge (connecting National Highway 1A through Nghe An, Ha Tinh) into Lam River.

Before that, people discovered a phone, sun protection shirt, gold ring… left on the Ben Thuy bridge over the Lam River.

Suspecting someone jumped off the bridge, people reported to the authorities. Some people said that while crossing the bridge, they saw a man sitting listlessly next to the bridge and then jumping from the bridge.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police received news that “someone jumped from Ben Thuy bridge” at 3:50 p.m. on April 24.

Soon after, this unit came along The River Fire Fighting and Rescue Police team mobilized vehicles, rescue vehicles, canoes and eight officers and soldiers to quickly arrive at the scene and search for victims.

Initially, the authorities verified the information that the person who left property and belongings on Ben Thuy bridge was Mr. PVD (37 years old, residing in Thanh Luong commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An).

Search and rescue work on Lam River and around the area Ben Thuy bridge is happening urgently. However, due to darkness and the Lam River’s water level rising, search and rescue work is facing difficulties.
