Regarding the incident of 37.5 hectares of forest lost during the implementation of The Dàlat at 1200 golf course and resort villa project in Da Ron commune, Don Duong district, Mr. Bui Thang – Head of the Propaganda Department of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee said. , the locality will direct the clear and accurate determination of the lost forest area.
On the afternoon of April 25, at the Conference on briefings and providing press information in May, Mr. Bui Thang said that through review, forest loss had been identified.
“In handling responsibility and overcoming consequences, the Standing Committee has assigned the Party Committee of the People’s Committee to direct the Provincial People’s Committee to clearly determine the exact area of lost forest.
From determining the cause, violations will be strictly handled. At the same time, there are solutions to restore lost forest areas. Besides, check and consider the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals if there are violations” – Mr. Bui Thang emphasized.
The Dàlat at 1200 golf course and resort villa project is invested by Acteam International Co., Ltd. with the goal of building and trading resort tourism, 5-star hotels, villas, and golf courses from 18 to 36 years old. holes, eco-tourism, sports entertainment, travel services.
The land area expected to be used is more than 649 hectares and the water surface area is 183 hectares.
By 2018, the 18-hole golf course project was put into operation by the enterprise with a total investment capital of more than 32.5 million USD (about 700 billion VND).
However, according to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lam Dong province, by comparing changes in forest status between the two inventories in 2007 and 2022 on the rented land area, the area of forested land decreased by more than 43.2 hectares (of which more than 38.2 hectares of natural forest).
Of these, the lost forest area handled by the authorities (due to businesses bulldozing land on rented areas without permission from competent authorities) is more than 2.77 hectares; The reduced forest area proposed not to be treated is more than 2.98 hectares; The remaining area of untreated deforestation is over 37.5 hectares.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Acteam International Co., Ltd. has destroyed forests to build infrastructure. In the lost forest area, there are more than 11.5 hectares of protective forest (more than 30 times the administrative penalty level).
