Singapore Food Show has long focused on innovative and sustainable solutions for the food and beverage industry, striving to provide added value to the F&B industry. Vietnam is a production and trade market with great potential. The diversity and rich potential of Vietnamese cuisine has attracted many partners.

Vietnam is an ASEAN country with a large amount of agricultural products. Singaporeans are very familiar with Vietnamese products such as rice, seafood, coffee, chili and fresh fruit. In the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam is Singapore’s largest rice exporter. Vietnamese seafood has a market share of about 10% in Singapore. Singapore and Vietnam maintain good bilateral relations in many aspects. Vietnam is Singapore’s 10th largest trading partner, while Singapore is Vietnam’s 4th largest trading partner. Singapore is also Vietnam’s largest investor in ASEAN.

On April 23, the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore cut the ribbon to open the Vietnam Pavilion. Attending the ribbon cutting were Mr. Mai Phuoc Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore; Mr. Cao Xuan Thang, Commercial Counselor, Head of Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore; Mr. George Choo, Chairman of the Singapore Telecommunications Industry Association; Ms. Belinda Lee, Vice President of the Singapore Seafood Association; Mr. Michael Duck, Vice President of Informa Markets; Ms. Song Wei, Editor-in-Chief of Fortune Times; Mr. Dainial Lim, Vice Chairman of the Singapore Association of Small and Medium Enterprises; Mr. Vincent Teo, Deputy Director of Training Office, NBS, Nanyang Technological University.

The Vietnam Embassy Trade Office always supports Vietnamese companies to attend exhibitions, display goods, connect trade, and promote business brands and products. At this FHA exhibition, there were 5 Vietnamese companies participating in the fair, bringing confectionery, drinks, frozen foods, chili and spices, dried fruit, canned fruit…. attracts a large number of tourists to stop by.

Mr. Mai Phuoc Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore, affirmed that businesses participating in the exhibition in Singapore will help promote products and services to the global market. He emphasized that Vietnamese businesses coming to Singapore to participate in the exhibition shows their efforts and determination to reach out to foreign markets. He also asked Vietnamese businesses to properly evaluate their capabilities and learn from international markets.

Mr. Mai Phuoc Dung shared that Vietnamese agriculture is developing in the direction of science and technology. For example, Vietnam is also currently growing economic crops. The most popular agricultural product exported to China is durian. The Vietnamese Embassy not only encourages Vietnamese businesses to go out but also welcomes foreign business groups to visit Vietnam.

Based on Singapore’s strategic position in the region and the headquarters’ economic policies, Vietnam makes good use of Singapore to support foreign companies interested in developing in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Embassy in Singapore will support foreign business delegations visiting Vietnam and help connect delegations with localities, associations and business communities. Hopefully, after the exhibition, relations will be strengthened to create opportunities to explore industrial, commercial and service investment, and at the same time build a bridge for many companies and representatives interested in visiting Vietnam to business check. It is expected that in next May, the Trade Office will coordinate to support a Singapore business delegation to visit Vietnam.
