Poet Truong Trong Nghia is Chairman of Tien Giang Arts Association

Poet Truong Trong Nghia was born on December 25, 1983 in Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province. Graduating from the University of Journalism at the Academy of Journalism and Communication and with a Master’s degree in Vietnamese Literature, poet Truong Trong Nghia spent 10 years as Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Arts Association and Editor-in-Chief of Van Nghe magazine. Tien Giang.

Poet Truong Trong Nghia is the author of two poetry collections “Illogical Fragments”, “Flying from the Field” and many Vong Co songs familiar to the public in the Southwest region. At the same time, poet Truong Trong Nghia also took on the role of Head of the Vietnam Writers Association Branch in Tien Giang.

At the age of 41, poet Truong Trong Nghia became the youngest President in the system of local arts associations. Two years ago, poet Nie Thanh Mai was elected Chairman of the Dak Lak Arts Association at the age of 42.

Not only paying attention to the literary and artistic movement of his hometown, poet Truong Trong Nghia also reflected on the challenges surrounding rural life: “I walk towards my childhood / Stepping on the footprints / My friends left the village to make a living/ The land is not enough for men to plow the fields/ Sweat does not turn into a full bowl of rice/ Young girls now no longer sing folk songs/ They no longer have waist-length hair/ Village fields are now crowded with houses. wish to grow / Where are the old bamboo fences?

Tien Giang Arts Association has 446 members, including 75 members of central specialized associations. Currently, Tien Giang Arts Association has 7 branches, including literature, theater, music, fine arts, photography, dance and folk arts.

In regional association activities, Tien Giang Arts Association successfully hosted two Vong Co song composing contests in 2017 and 2019 and the Mekong Delta song composing contest in 2022.
