The “historic” hailstorm damaged many people’s properties in the border commune of Quang Nam
According to Ms. Hon, the hailstorm lasting more than 1 hour occurred at around 5:00 p.m. on April 24 in Ga Ry commune, accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds. This is the “historic” hail storm, the largest ever in the commune.
According to Ms. Hon, there is currently no specific statistics on the damage situation, but the hail damaged the corrugated iron roofs of most households in the commune. Among them, the house of a household in Put village, a poor and lonely household in extremely difficult circumstances, was completely damaged.
In addition, the hail also damaged the entire area of rice and corn fields and was considered a total loss.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 18, a hail storm accompanied by strong winds also appeared in Tra Mai commune and Tra Linh commune (H.Nam Tra My, Quang Nam).
The hail occurred on a large scale with particles the size of a thumbnail. Many people had to close doors and reinforce furniture to avoid damage.
In particular, in Tra Linh commune, where many households grow Ngoc Linh ginseng, hail occurred, causing many areas of ginseng to be damaged.
