Previously, through the work of understanding the situation, Vinh City Police discovered a gambling ring using lotteries and lottery numbers operating quite sophisticatedly, inter-provincially and with many participants. To hide their crimes, the subjects only transacted via Telegram accounts on mobile phones.
Every day, this group conducts illegal gambling transactions with amounts ranging from 500 to 1 billion VND. After a process of monitoring and enough evidence, Vinh City Police and Nghe An Police conducted a raid on this large-scale gambling ring.
Through the struggle, the police force made an emergency arrest of 25 subjects residing in Vinh city, Cua Lo town in Nghe An and Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province. Initially identified, the leaders of this inter-provincial gambling ring are Le Thi Phuong Lien (born 1985), residing in Hung Dung ward, Vinh city and Pham Quang Chien (born 2004), residing in Phu Loc commune, Can Loc district , Ha Tinh province. During the arrest and search of the subjects’ residences, many mobile phones used for gambling transactions and cash were confiscated.
Currently, the case is being continued to be investigated and clarified by Nghe An Police.
