(PLVN) – On April 25, 2024, the People’s Committee of Lang Son province organized a conference to meet and connect to consume products of Cooperatives (Cooperatives) of Lang Son province in 2024. Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People’s Committee, said that in recent times, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee of Lang Son province have focused on leading, directing, building and promulgating many directives, resolutions, programs, plans, schemes and investment support policies to develop collective economy and cooperatives. According to a report at the conference, Lang Son has over 500 cooperatives with over 5,520 members, a total registered capital of about 1,150 billion VND, and a total of 8,110 regular employees in the cooperative. On average, Lang Son establishes about 25 new cooperatives each year, and in 2022 alone, 67 new cooperatives will be established; In 2023, 45 new cooperatives will be established (reaching 100% of the plan); In the first quarter of 2024, 15 new cooperatives were established, reaching 33.3% of the plan.

Cooperatives in the province operate mainly on a small scale but are basically stable, the cooperative’s state budget payment in 2023 is 12.5 billion VND. Cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector continue to increase production and actively seek partners to consume products; Cooperatives operating in the fields of trade, transportation services, and cargo loading and unloading services are again active at border gates.

Thereby contributing significantly to socio-economic development, especially in rural areas, creating jobs and increasing income for members and workers, contributing to the construction of new rural areas in the world. locality.

Lang Son currently has 147 OCOP products (23 4-star products, 124 3-star products). The number of subjects whose products are evaluated and classified as OCOP products is 50 subjects; Of which, 21 subjects are cooperatives (accounting for 42%), 5 subjects are enterprises, 16 subjects are production and business households, 8 subjects are cooperative groups.

However, the growth rate and contribution rate of the collective economic sector to the province’s GRDP is still low. Although the number of cooperatives has increased, most cooperatives are small-scale and have a narrow scope of activities. Joint venture and association activities between cooperatives and between cooperatives and other economic organizations are few and not common…
