Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed the Prime Minister’s Telegram No. 40 on focusing on overcoming the boat sinking incident on the Chanh River in Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province.

According to Quick Report No. 17 of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Quang Ninh province, on the morning of April 25, on the Chanh River in Quang Yen town, an incident occurred. There was a boat sinking incident, leaving 4 people missing. The remaining 2 people swam to shore on their own.

Sending greetings and condolences to relatives of the victims’ families, the Prime Minister also requested the Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee and relevant agencies to continue to direct and implement troubleshooting work.

In particular, the Government leaders requested the leaders of Quang Ninh province to preside over and coordinate with the Office of the National Committee for Incident and Disaster Response and Search and Rescue in mobilizing necessary forces and means to Search for missing people with the most urgent and timely spirit.

Along with this task, the Chairman of Quang Ninh province was assigned to organize visits, encouragement, and support for families of victims.

At the same time, at the request of the Prime Minister, the authorities need to urgently verify and specifically investigate the cause of the incident, clarify responsibilities to promptly learn from experience. The Prime Minister directed to strictly handle violations (if any) in accordance with the provisions of law.

Regarding relevant ministries and branches, the head of the Government noted the need to strengthen guidance, propaganda, inspection, and urging owners of vehicles and boats (including tourist, fishing, and transport boats). transport), implementing work to ensure safety for people and vehicles operating on rivers and at sea, especially during the change of seasons when sudden thunderstorms and tornadoes often occur.

“Resolutely handle cases of non-compliance with safety regulations, failure to equip lifebuoys, and failure to wear life jackets as prescribed,” the Prime Minister’s Official Telegram stated.
