GNO – With the sponsorship of a volunteer group in Ho Chi Minh City led by Mr. Huynh Trung Nghia, Venerable Thich Van Binh, abbot of Phuoc Long Co Tu (H.Giong Trom, Ben Tre) coordinated with the Commune People’s Committee. Hung Phong Island organized the giving of fresh water and plastic containers to local people on April 23.

Accordingly, the group proactively transported 1,300m3 water by 2 barges from Dong Thap province to H.Giong Trom, Ben Tre to directly supply people in hamlets and donate 500 plastic barrels to people in drought-stricken areas, poor households in hamlets 1, 2, 3, 4, Hung Phong commune. Difficult households that cannot afford to get water at the gathering point will be supported by staff to bring water to their homes.

It is known that the total cost of implementing this program is more than 61 million VND.
