Set a Vietnamese record for 120 dishes made from ginseng

On the evening of April 25, the People’s Committee of H. Tu Mo Rong (Kon Tum) held the opening ceremony of the international medicinal culinary contest and announced setting a Vietnamese record of 120 dishes made from ginseng.

With the theme “Medicinal Cuisine – Quintessence of Ngoc Linh Mountains and Forests”, the contest attracted 21 participating teams. Among them, there are 11 teams from 11 communes and cooperatives in H.Tu Mo Rong area and 10 guest teams from Laos, China, Switzerland and other provinces and cities in the country.

Each team has the participation of a maximum of 3 main chefs. Teams will show off their skills in preparing at least 6 main dishes with ingredients from Tu Mo Rong ginseng and recommended dishes with their local flavors. H.Tu Mo Rong distributes free ginseng to competing processing teams.

Within the framework of the contest, Vietnam Record Organization Joint Stock Company Vietkings announced the establishment of a Vietnamese record of 120 dishes made from ginseng for H.Tu Mo Rong.

Mr. Vo Trung Manh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tu Mo Rong District, said this is the second time this district has organized a medicinal culinary contest. Unlike last time, this competition is international with the participation of good chefs from many countries. Despite the language barrier, with their love for food, international chefs traveled to H.Tu Mo Rong to join the Xo Dang people in creating nutritious dishes from the specialty plant ginseng.

Particularly with the establishment of a Vietnamese record of 120 dishes made from ginseng, it has affirmed the value, quality, and appeal of Tu Mo Rong ginseng compared to ginseng grown in other regions and localities.

“Through the contest, H. Tu Mo Rong will print a recipe book for preparing dishes from Tu Mo Rong ginseng, then widely distribute it so that everyone, every home in Vietnam and the world can Prepare it yourself for your relatives to use,” Mr. Manh said.
