These men snatched the reporter’s phone, threw it on the ground, hit the NVC reporter in the head, hit the MHM reporter in the face, strangled him, and kicked him down. Their actions were very aggressive, hooligans, and disregarded his health. of others, disregarding the law.

Their attacks can endanger the victim’s life, not to mention, they also destroy reporters’ property and working tools.

There have been many cases of reporters being assaulted, including cases where the attackers were criminally prosecuted. For example, in the case of two subjects assaulting a Hanoi Radio and Television reporter, they were prosecuted for the crime of “Intentionally causing injury” under Article 134 of the Penal Code. The incident occurred on June 6, 2023.

Regarding the above-mentioned assault on a reporter, Thanh Tri district police are continuing to verify and clarify the case. It is necessary to consider the dangerous behavior and disregard of the law of this group of people, and if there are enough grounds, criminal proceedings should be taken.

Punish them strictly according to the law so that reporters can feel secure in their professional activities, and at the same time prevent the hooliganism of many people, disrupting public order and threatening the community.
