Specifically, two victims were found and their bodies were handed over to their families: Ms. Nguyen Thi Mo (born in 1983), residing in Dinh 1 village, Lien Vi commune, and Ms. Duong Thi Cuong (born in 1966), residing in Cam Lien village, Cam La commune, Quang Yen town.

The two victims are sisters who have not yet been found, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (born in 1982); Nguyen Thi Nghia (born 1979), residing in Dinh 1 village, Lien Vi commune, Quang Yen town. Currently, the authorities are still actively searching, but due to high tide and rising water, the search work is more difficult.

Colonel Khuc Thanh Du, Commander of the Military Command of Quang Ninh province, informed that the forces continue to divide into shifts and groups to search 24/7, determined to find the victims. Regarding the search plan, the forces will localize and determine the location of the accident to come up with search plans. On the night of April 25, they will focus on keeping watch, sending boats to pound rakes and fish downstream. Suspected areas… spread nets at some points to prevent them from being swept away.

Previously, at 5:10 a.m. on April 25, on the channel of Chanh River, a section of the administrative boundary managed by the People’s Committee of Ha An ward and Phong Hai ward (Quang Yen town), an accident occurred that sank a bamboo boat. There were 6 people on the vehicle, including the boat owner and 1 other person who swam to shore to escape. Four other people were unlucky enough to go missing. According to people, the unfortunate thing is that most of the people on the boat did not wear life jackets, so when they crossed the river and encountered a thunderstorm, they were swept away and disappeared.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1990), son of victim Duong Thi Cuong (born in 1966), Cam La commune, Quang Yen town, said that after salvaging the bamboo boat, he checked to see that there was A life jacket, however tied very firmly, is difficult to remove by hand and must use a knife or scissors to cut the rope to remove it.
