On April 25, responding to VTC News reporter, a representative of Hoang Mai District Police (Hanoi) said that the unit was verifying the incident of many cars being splashed with red paint.
Regarding the incident, a representative of Dinh Cong Ward Police confirmed that 6 cars were sprayed with paint, the incident happened a few days ago. Dinh Cong Ward Police are coordinating with Hoang Mai District Police to search for the culprit.
On the same day, social networks shared pictures of some cars being splashed with red paint while parked on Tran Dien street, Dinh Cong ward. The online community is angry, saying that this is an act of destruction of property and needs to be strictly handled.
Many cars were sprayed with paint when parked on Tran Dien street.
Previously, in April 2023, more than 10 cars parked around Linh Dam Lake (Hoang Mai district) suddenly had their tires punctured. During the investigation, Hoang Mai District Police determined that Ho Ngoc Toan (38 years old) was the culprit responsible for the above series of car tire punctures.
Authorities concluded that the damage value of 16 car tires punctured by Toan was more than 33 million VND.
With the above behavior, the first instance judgment of the People’s Court of Hoang Mai District decided to sentence Ho Ngoc Toan to 30 months in prison for the crime of “Destroying property”. After the first instance trial, the defendant appealed for a reduced sentence.
At the appeal hearing, the jury noted that Toan had new details that he had completed military service. However, the jury said that the first instance verdict dealt with the right person, the right crime as well as the right nature and level of the crime committed by the defendant. The Court of Appeal decided to reject the appeal, upholding the crime and the 30-month prison sentence for Ho Ngoc Toan.
