Dak Nong ensures progress of Gia Nghia Expressway Project

On April 25, in Hanoi, the National Assembly Economic Committee held the 14th plenary session on a number of issues related to highway projects.

TUV, Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh and relevant departments and branches attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Economic Committee, ministries and central branches asked the People’s Committee of Dak Nong province to explain many issues related to the Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh Expressway Project.

In particular, the content of the province’s counterpart funds in project implementation and site clearance work was interested and discussed by delegates.

Explaining to the National Assembly Economic Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh emphasized that Dak Nong still faces many difficulties in socio-economic development. The province’s annual budget revenue is still limited.

However, the expressway project has been identified by the province as a key task. When the project comes into operation, it will create a huge breakthrough in the province’s socio-economic development. Therefore, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee of Dak Nong province have stepped in with very high political determination.

The People’s Council of Dak Nong province issued Resolution No. 25/NQ-HDND, dated July 26, 2022 on supplementing and adjusting the medium-term public investment capital plan from the local budget for the period 2021-2025.

On this basis, Dak Nong will balance and allocate 1,000 billion VND from the local budget to pay part of the cost of implementing the expressway project.

“Dak Nong has established a Steering Committee to implement the expressway project and assigned specific tasks to members,” Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh spoke at the meeting.

Explaining the site clearance work for the project, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh informed that Dak Nong has reviewed this work.

When the project is approved, the province will immediately organize site clearance. As expected, the province will arrange 6 resettlement areas, with a total area of ​​21 hectares to serve people in the project area.

Regarding ensuring material sources for project construction, Dak Nong has directed relevant units to review the list of material mines, evaluate reserves and capacity to promptly adjust and supplement.

“For difficulties and obstacles during the implementation process, we have directed specialized agencies to review and promptly report for consideration and submission to competent authorities for specific mechanisms. The ultimate goal is to ensure enough material sources to serve the project”, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh said.

Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dak Nong province emphasized that after the project was approved by the National Assembly, Dak Nong continued to coordinate closely with the People’s Committee of Binh Phuoc province, investors, and consulting units to implement the prescribed steps.

After the consulting unit hands over the centerline and specific scope of site clearance, Dak Nong will immediately organize site clearance work and deploy component projects.

“The province will make a specific plan to implement and ensure the completion of the project on schedule,” Vice Chairwoman of Dak Nong Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh affirmed before the National Assembly Economic Committee.

Also at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh hoped that ministries and central branches, especially the National Assembly Economic Committee, would agree and highly agree on the feasibility of the project.

The National Assembly Economic Committee reviews, unifies and submits to the National Assembly for approval the investment policy of Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh Expressway Project at the 7th Session, 15th National Assembly and agrees with specific mechanisms to implement the project.
