Handled 54 cases of counterfeit goods and commercial fraud

According to statistical data from the end of December 2022 to the end of the first quarter of 2024, functional forces under Steering Committee 389 of Lam Dong province have inspected and handled 94 cases, thereby handling administrative violations. 54 cases, fined 423 million VND, goods confiscated and forced to destroy nearly 26 million VND with 122 products being cosmetics and perfumes of all kinds.

Units such as the Provincial Police handled 5 administrative violations with a fine of 34 million VND; The Provincial Market Management Department inspected 22 cases, handled 18 administrative violations with a fine of 95 million VND;

The Health Sector has inspected and inspected 67 establishments selling pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and traditional medicine, discovered 31 establishments in violation and imposed an administrative fine of 294 million VND.

According to assessment from Steering Committee 389, currently on the market, rich and diverse types of goods are produced domestically and imported, so subjects take advantage of this situation to operate at the same time. Using techniques and high technology, it is difficult for the naked eye to distinguish between real and fake goods.

The Steering Committee of 389 provinces recommends that businesses and consumers when buying and using goods need to proactively apply technology to trace the origin of goods, including QR Code technology;

While buying and selling goods, if detecting unusual signs or suspecting prohibited goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin, or intellectual property infringement, consumers need to proactively inform them. Report and report acts showing signs of violation to the authorities for timely verification and handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
