Announcing the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment of Ben Cat City

On the morning of April 25, the Town Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ben Cat town solemnly held a ceremony to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment established An Dien ward, An Tay ward (Ben Cat town) and established Ben Cat city, Binh Duong province; received the First Class Labor Medal.

Attending the ceremony were former Politburo member and former President Nguyen Minh Triet; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong.

At the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Law Committee, announced the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment of An Dien ward, An Tay ward in Ben Cat town and the establishment of An Dien ward and An Tay ward in Ben Cat town. Ben Cat street, Binh Duong province, the Resolution officially takes effect from May 1.

Accordingly, An Dien ward was established based on the entire area of ​​31.22km2 and population of 25,363 people of An Dien commune. An Tay ward was established based on the entire area of ​​44.01km2 and population of 41,917 people of An Tay commune. Established Ben Cat city based on the entire area of ​​234.35km2 and population of 364,578 people of Ben Cat town. After its establishment, Ben Cat city has 8 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards: An Dien, An Tay, Chanh Phu Hoa, Hoa Loi, My Phuoc, Tan Dinh, Thoi Hoa and Phu An commune.

Thus, after Ben Cat town officially became a city, Binh Duong province has 9 district-level administrative units, including 4 districts and 5 cities: Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An, Tan Uyen and Ben Cat. . Up to now, Binh Duong is the locality with the most cities in the country.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Phuong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that after more than 27 years of re-establishment, the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Duong province have promoted the tradition of solidarity, dynamism and creativity. Create and strive to overcome difficulties and challenges to build Binh Duong to become one of the leading industrial provinces of the country. In that overall achievement, there was an important contribution from Ben Cat. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong believes that the Party Committee, government, army and people of Ben Cat city will promote the heroic revolutionary homeland tradition, unite, and firmly step on the path of innovation and capital building. At the ceremony, the President’s Decision was also announced, awarding the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, authorities and people of Ben Cat town, for their outstanding achievements in work since 2018. By 2022, contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded scholarships to disadvantaged and studious students in Ben Cat city.
