However, at the beginning of summer, the weather is hot and some ponds and lakes are dry, which easily leads to students hanging out, bathing, and playing without adult supervision or management.

The thematic activity is an opportunity for the school to continue to emphasize and remind students about drowning prevention. This is also a healthy and meaningful playground, helping children observe, learn and practice drowning prevention skills. Raise awareness to ensure your safety against potential accident risks, especially drowning accidents during the coming summer.

Teacher Nguyen Dinh Man – Principal of Tam Hop Primary School, said that the school’s students are all ethnic minority children, living in far away villages. Their parents go to the fields every day from early morning until late at night, and do not have the conditions to closely monitor and manage their children.

Tam Hop area is a border commune, with many streams flowing in the forest. During the hot season, it is difficult to avoid children being hyperactive, running away to play, and arbitrarily bathing in streams without an adult accompanying them, which is potentially dangerous. “Normally, during the school year, children study at school 2 sessions/day and are regularly reminded and supervised by teachers. However, on weekends, holidays, and especially summer vacations, managing children is more difficult.
