On April 28, the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway is expected to open for traffic about 30km from the National Highway 7 intersection in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district to the National Highway 46B intersection in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district ( Nghe An).
The scale of the expressway includes 4 lanes.
Accordingly, the remaining section of the route will open to traffic in the near future. It is known that the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway component project belongs to the Eastern North – South expressway in the 2017-2020 period, with a 49.3km long, passing through 2 provinces of Nghe An (44.4 km) and Ha Tinh (4.9 km).
The starting point of the expressway is at the Dien Cat intersection (Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An) intersecting with National Highway 7, connecting with the Nghi Son – Dien Chau expressway section and the final point intersecting with National Highway 8, connecting with Bai Vot – Ham Nghi expressway section (Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh).
Total project investment more 11,150 billion VND, invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). The investor is a joint venture of Hoa Hiep Company Limited – CIENCO 4 Group Joint Stock Company – Nui Hong Investment Company Limited – Truong Son Construction Corporation – VINA2 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
The project will be implemented at the end of May 2021 and the contract implementation period is until May 22, 2024. Payback exploitation period is more than 16 years.
According to a report from the Ministry of Transport, the North-South Eastern Expressway in the 2017-2020 period has completed 9/11 projects, bringing the total number of expressways to 1,892km, of which 475km will be in 2023 alone. The two remaining unfinished projects are Dien Chau – Bai Vot and Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressways.
Among them, the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway will officially be put into operation on the morning of April 26, to serve increased travel demand during the holidays of April 30 and May 1. At the same time, all means of transport will not be charged. Fees are expected to be collected from May 2.
