On April 25, in Pleiku city, the Labor Confederation of Gia Lai province held a ceremony to launch Workers’ Month 2024; Organize an online contest to learn about the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Provincial Trade Union, term 2023-2028.
On this occasion, the Labor Federation of Gia Lai province deducted 500 million VND from the Social Fund to support the construction of “Trade Union Warm” houses for 10 union members and workers with housing difficulties (50 million VND in each case).

As one of 10 people awarded funds to build a “Trade Union Warm” house, Ms. Ro Mah Chili, in Ia To commune, Ia Grai district, was very touched.
Ms. Ro Mah Chili is not married yet and lives with her mother and sister and two fatherless children. For many years, a family of 5 members has lived in a house “damaged in all 3 parts”, the foundation is sagging, the roof is damaged and leaking. Every time it rains and windy, the whole family gets worried and restless, always looking for a temporary cover.
“Receiving such a large amount of money really makes me touched and happy. I will manage to earn a little more money and with this money “Trade Union Shelter” will build a more solid and safer house for the whole family”, Ms. Ro Mah Chili confided.

On this occasion, the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation also gave gifts to 36 union members and workers who unfortunately suffered from work accidents, dangerous diseases, serious illnesses and difficult family circumstances…
Mr. Nguyen Huy V., forest protection manager of the Ya Hoi Protection Forest Management Board, Dac Po district, has thyroid cancer. He has had surgery and treatment since 2016, and has periodic radiotherapy twice a year at large medical facilities outside the province. Not to mention regular examination and treatment, the cost is expensive.
Not only that, he is taking care of his parents and raising two young children… while his wife is a seasonal worker with low and unstable income. The gifts given by the Trade Union during Workers’ Month have been a great source of encouragement for him and his family.

Comrade Nguyen Hoang Phong – Chairman of the Confederation of Labor of Gia Lai province said that Workers’ Month 2024 takes place in a special context, being the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress at all levels.
Workers’ Month 2024 has the theme “Worker solidarity – Resolution implementation”, so activities aim to create new motivation and atmosphere for officials, union members, and workers throughout the province to be highly determined, make great efforts and act together to bring Resolutions of Trade Union Congresses at all levels, Resolutions of the 11th Congress of Provincial Trade Unions and Resolutions of the 13th Congress of Vietnam Trade Unions, term 2023 – 2028 into life.

“We revolve around those tasks during Workers’ Month, with the aim of bringing legal and legitimate rights and benefits to our workers and union members. We also design action programs to achieve that goal. Trade unions at all levels must carry out the tasks of taking care of workers and employees in enterprises and economic zones to affirm the role of workers in the local socio-economic development; or organizing dialogues and collective bargaining sessions so that trade unions, State Party leaders, and business owners pay more attention to the working class as well as union members and workers.” Comrade Nguyen Hoang Phong said.
Gia Lai province currently has more than 55 thousand union members and workers. To put the activities of the Workers’ Month into reality, representatives of trade unions in the province clearly expressed their determination to carry out the tasks set by the Provincial Labor Confederation.
