Commencement of phase 1, investment project to build Xuan Mai – Hoa Binh water supply system

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long and Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Aleksander Surdej.

Xuan Mai water plant has a total investment of 5,130 billion VND, capacity of 300,000m3/day – night for both components, including Hoa Binh component and Hanoi component. In particular, phase 1 of the Xuan Mai – Hoa Binh water supply system construction investment project is implemented according to the roadmap: from 2024 to 2026, complete phase 1A to operate water generation of 150,000m3/day – night and By 2030, phase 1B will be completed to increase capacity to 300,000m3/day – night. According to the plan, phase 1 of the project exploits raw water sources from Da River to process and provide clean, inter-regional, inter-provincial, long-term stable water sources for Hoa Binh province, Hanoi capital and neighborhoods.

The project includes items: water pumping station with an area of ​​2.7 hectares; two raw water pipelines, each 8km long and two clean water pipelines each 20km long, along National Highway 6 in Hoa Binh city and Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province to Hanoi city.

The completion of phase 1 of the project will create a sustainable clean water supply system, capable of providing and meeting the long-term stable clean water demand for Hanoi Capital, Hoa Binh province and neighborhoods. From there, it helps enhance water source safety, contributing to thoroughly solving people’s need for clean water, as well as accelerating the pace of urbanization in localities.
