Round-trip tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc currently cost about 2.3 – 3.5 million VND/person (flying from April 28 to May 1). This number is also much more expensive than flying on weekdays, not to mention the limited number of flights, most of which fly at bad hours.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu – General Director of Vitamin Tours said that because air ticket prices increased too high a month ago, the company does not plan to hold many tickets or tours to Phu Quoc to serve tourists.
“The majority of visitors to Phu Quoc are small groups and families. Many people choose to buy air ticket and hotel combos, while few choose a package tour to Phu Quoc for the holidays,” Mr. Hieu said.
Not only air tickets to Phu Quoc, flights to a series of coastal tourist destinations such as Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Quy Nhon close to holidays also have their ticket prices increase.
Accordingly, on April 26, the round-trip ticket price from Hanoi to Da Nang (flying from April 28 to May 1) is the lowest at 4.1 million VND/person, flying at bad hours. There are flights up to 8.1 million VND/person.
There is only one flight left from Hanoi to Hue on the same day, priced at 4.9 million VND/person, round trip.
Round-trip tickets from Hanoi to Nha Trang from April 28 to May 1 cost from 6 million VND/person. The most expensive flight, a direct flight at a good time, costs 21.7 million VND/person.
