18th meeting of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Council: Approved 11 resolutions on socio-economic development

This is a thematic meeting to decide on many important contents, contributing to completing the task of socio-economic development in 2024. At the meeting, the Provincial People’s Council reviewed, discussed, and decided on 14 contents assigned by the Standing Committee. The Provincial People’s Council and Provincial People’s Committee submit proposals, related to many sectors and fields, to concretize the Party’s guidelines, policies and laws of the State for implementation in the province.

Notably, the Provincial People’s Council will consider and decide on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period of the province. Accordingly, the number of commune-level administrative units before arrangement was 177 units, including 126 communes, 41 wards and 10 towns; After arrangement, the number is reduced to 171 units, including 118 communes, 43 wards and 10 towns.

At the same time, the Provincial People’s Council focused on discussing and approving the investment policy of the road project connecting the Link Road, connecting Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc provinces to Tan Phu Industrial Cluster. For the investment project to build the Road connecting DT.261 – DT.266 with a total investment of 392,729 million VND, it was approved in Resolution No. 193/NQ-HDND of the province dated December 10, 2021, at the meeting. Recently, the Provincial People’s Committee has submitted a proposal to adjust investment policies. Accordingly, the total proposed investment adjustment is 736,391 million VND. Other contents remain unchanged according to Resolution No. 193/NQ-HDND.

Investment phase I (2023-2024) is 434,363 million VND; Phase II investment period (2025-2026) is 302,028 million VND. The investment in the route meets the goal of gradually completing the traffic infrastructure system according to the city’s planning.
