Chinese electric car Aion ES arrives in Vietnam, low configuration running service

--

In the first batch of cars arriving in Vietnam, Aion ES is a rare electric car model with a sedan style. Most electric vehicles today have an SUV or MPV design. The parameters show that this popular car model will have an accessible price.

Aion ES – a rare electric car in Vietnam with a sedan style

Aion ES 2025 is positioned in the C-class sedan segment along with Honda Civic, Kia K3, Mazda3. The car’s size is relatively large compared to competitors, 4,810 mm long and 1,880 mm wide. The 2,750 mm wheelbase is on par with the Aion Y Plus in the MPV segment. The sedan design is suitable for people who like to drive low-rise cars but still want to save money.

The car uses the GAC logo, not the Eros arrow logo. The rear bumper is neat while the front bumper is recessed into the air intake grille. This is an electric car, so the air intake function is not to cool the engine but simply to get outside air for the cockpit. The overall appearance is not too disruptive but easy on the eyes, suitable for young customers.

The design of Aion ES 2025 is quite modern

The interior of the Aion ES 2025 is not as modern as the Aion Y Plus that arrived in Vietnam at the same time. Although it is an electric car, the equipment is quite simple with a mechanical clock combined with a small screen, a small touch screen in the center, a knob-shaped gear lever, an electronic parking brake, and automatic air conditioning. Looking from the outside, many people may mistakenly think this is a gasoline car when it is not equipped with large display screens.

Aion ES 2025 is only equipped with a small engine with 136 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. Maximum speed 130 km/h. Power parameters are only on par with VinFast VF 5, while the operating range is higher at 440 km after each full charge, this is thanks to the large capacity battery of 58.8 kWh.

Even though it is an electric car, the Aion ES 2025 interior does not have many large screens

Like VinFast VF 5 in Vietnam, the Aion ES 2025 electric car proves to be very economical if used as a means of transportation for services. However, the big problem with Aion ES 2025 in particular and electric cars in general (except VinFast) is the lack of a charging station system, causing the car to only move in the city.

In Thailand, the pure electric sedan Aion ES 2025 costs 850,000 baht (about 583 million VND). When officially sold on the Vietnamese market, it will likely be around 600 million VND, equivalent to the B and C class sedan segments depending on the version.
