At this meeting, the People’s Council of Kien Giang province discussed and unanimously voted to pass 19 Resolutions of the Provincial People’s Council. Notably, the delegates passed a resolution on the report on commune-level part-time officials according to Decree 33 of the Government.
Specifically, 22 new projects were added and capital increased for 3 projects in the budget balance with a total capital of more than 672 billion VND. The resolution to adjust and supplement the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 includes adding 21 projects with a capital of nearly 1,530 billion VND. Adjusted to increase the capital plan of 15 project categories, with the total plan increased by more than 253 billion VND.
The Provincial People’s Council also issued a resolution to extend the implementation and disbursement time of 127 projects, with an amount of 1,270 billion VND and extend the implementation and disbursement time of 4 projects, with a capital of 435 billion VND.

Accordingly, Kien Giang will not apply the specific criteria for population size and natural area of commune-level administrative units.
The total number of people working part-time at the commune level for each district-level administrative unit in the province in 2024 is 2,278 people, an increase of 282 people compared to before.
Cases increased in Rach Gia City, Phu Quoc and Hon Dat district.
The budget is expected to increase spending by more than 10 billion VND/year.
