Cooperation conference between Gia Lai Provincial People’s Court and Ratanakiri Provincial Primary Court (Cambodia)

The 2024 conference between the Primary Court of Ratanakiri Province, Kingdom of Cambodia and the People’s Court of Gia Lai Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam was held at the Primary Court of Ratanakiri Province with the theme “Crime of manufacturing and storing , illegally transporting, using, trading or appropriating military weapons” according to the laws of each country.

The main content revolves around the fact that the Justice system of the Kingdom of Cambodia has recently organized widespread propaganda to all people about guidance, education as well as forms of handling for all types of crimes related to this field. the area mentioned above. Laws in Cambodia have specific provisions to prevent this type of crime including: Penal Code, Law on Management of Weapons and Explosives 2005.

In addition, the Vietnamese legal system has also implemented many legal propaganda and education activities and has deterrent measures for these types of crimes. Applicable Laws regulating types of penalties include: Law on management of use of weapons, explosives and supporting tools 2017 (amended and supplemented in 2019) and Penal Code 2015.

The conference took place in an atmosphere of solidarity, friendship and good neighborliness. The leaders of the Ratanakiri Provincial Primary Court and the leaders of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Court recognized and highly appreciated the content of the presentations presented by the representatives of the two Courts.

Along with that, conference participants discussed a number of issues related to the laws of the two countries to learn more about the areas of interest to both sides surrounding the discussion topic.

At this Conference, many good results were achieved for the parties in exchanging information and laws related to “Crime of illegally manufacturing, storing, transporting, using, trading or appropriation of military weapons” and many lessons learned during the work, in order to further improve the effectiveness of cooperation in the future.

The two sides have agreed and decided to help each other in preventing and combating crimes related to the illegal manufacture, storage, transportation, use, trading or appropriation of military weapons related to the war. Vietnamese or Cambodian people in the province they are responsible for.

Through the Conference, the two sides learned about each country’s laws and regulations regarding the illegal storage and transportation of weapons by Vietnamese and Cambodian subjects for trial. according to the law.

Along with that, the parties have policies to protect the interests of the victims, public health, social order and safety and prohibit the illegal storage and use of weapons and explosives based on the law. Criminal law aims to prevent violations of the law.

At the end of the Conference, representatives of the two Courts signed a memorandum of understanding, continuing to strengthen cooperation between the two Courts in the coming time and agreed to organize the next Conference scheduled for May 29, 2019. 2025 at the People’s Court of Gia Lai province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
