Launching Humanitarian Month 2024

On the occasion of the 161st anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on May 8, on the morning of April 26, in Ha Long City, the Provincial Red Cross Association held a Launching Ceremony of Humanitarian Month 2024 with the theme ” Humanitarian journey – Giving and receiving love”.

After 3 years of implementing Humanitarian Month to raise awareness and arouse compassion among people of all walks of life; promote poverty reduction and build a compassionate community; Promote the mobilization of resources to help people in difficult circumstances. To date, the entire province has mobilized nearly 30 billion VND, creating resources to contribute to ensuring social security in the province. .

In order to spread the spirit of solidarity and solidarity with this year’s theme of Humanitarian Month, “Humanitarian Journey – Giving Love”, the Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society calls on agencies and units, Businesses, philanthropists inside and outside the province and people from all walks of life continue to accompany the Provincial Red Cross Society in humanitarian activities. The Red Cross at all levels also strives to mobilize support for the construction of 20 or more new humanitarian houses; blood donation campaign of over 1,500 units of blood; Maintaining a humanitarian porridge pot, providing free medical examination and medicine, supporting and caring for poor students with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange, and humanitarian addresses in the province with a total humanitarian value estimated at over 4 billion VND.

Right at the Launching Ceremony of Humanitarian Month 2024, the Provincial Red Cross Society received donations of over 2.5 billion VND from 7 organizations, individuals and local Red Cross Societies. Of which, Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group alone donated 1.4 billion VND to build 20 houses (each worth 70 million VND) for households in difficult circumstances in the province. .

On this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross Society also honored groups and individuals who have always accompanied the province’s humanitarian movement.
