Accelerate the progress of arranging district and commune-level administrative units in Son La province

On April 25, Comrade Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Working Group deployed the task of establishing and expanding urban administrative units, adjusting the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the locality. The provincial desk (Working Group 1404) chaired the Working Group Meeting to evaluate the progress of implementing the task of arranging district and commune-level administrative units for the period 2023-2025 in Son La province.

At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Construction reported the progress of implementing planning content, urban development program, urban classification project (step 1 and step 2); Propose solutions to speed up the implementation of general planning steps, urban development programs, and urban classification projects to ensure on schedule. The Department of Home Affairs reports on the progress of implementing the task of building a project to arrange administrative units at district and commune levels for the period 2023-2025 of Son La province. Accordingly, up to now, Son La province has established, appraised and approved the general urban construction planning project for Thuan Chau town; Song Ma town and Moc Chau district; is appraising the general urban construction planning project for Quang Huy town; Muong Giang town and Yen Chau town. For the Urban Development Program, approved for Song Ma town; is organizing programming for Muong Giang town; Yen Chau town and Quang Huy town. For the preparation of the Urban Classification Project, the urban area of ​​Moc Chau town and the urban area of ​​Song Ma town are being evaluated.

Regarding the overall plan for arranging district and commune-level administrative units for the period 2023-2025, there are 3 units, including: Thuan Chau Town; Phu Yen town and Yen Chau town are subject to mandatory arrangement. There are 3 district and commune-level administrative units that are encouraged to be rearranged for the period 2023-2025, including: Establishment of Moc Chau town and arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Moc Chau district to establish 15 units. commune-level administrative position; Adjust the administrative boundaries of Na Nghiu commune to expand Song Ma town; Establishing Muong Giang town on the basis of the entire natural area and population size of Muong Giang commune, Quynh Nhai district.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Hong Minh requested departments and branches to continue to urge and guide districts to establish urban development programs for each urban area in the province; coordinate with districts to speed up progress and improve the quality of urban planning preparation and adjustment; Organize to collect opinions from local people to submit to the District and Commune People’s Councils to issue resolutions approving the policy of arranging administrative units to ensure compliance with regulations.
