On April 26, after scattered light rain in some districts in Ho Chi Minh City this morning, many people thought the heat would cool down. However, at noon on the same day, sweltering heat continued to occur on a large scale.

As noted by the reporter Dan tri, around 6:30 a.m. on the same day, rain fell in some areas of District 12, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Binh Thanh… Thu Duc City. The rain lasted about 5 minutes, in some places less than 1 minute.

Mr. Khanh (living in Binh Thanh district) said that this morning he was surprised by the rain that appeared after many days of intense heat. When the rain fell, he quickly went to collect the clothes that were drying.

“I was gathering things when the rain stopped. It rained for less than 1 minute. After the rain, the sun was hot again, with no signs of cooling down,” Mr. Khanh said.

At the same time, in some areas of District 12, the rain lasted longer (about 5 minutes). Many people who went to work in the morning had not had time to put on raincoats before the weather had stopped.

At 12 o’clock, the weather recorded on the phone peaked at 38 degrees Celsius. However, the actual outdoor temperature measured on the phone application exceeded 40 degrees Celsius.

Talk to reporters Dan triMr. Le Dinh Quyet, Head of the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Station, said that this morning’s rain had a small flow and narrow range.

The rain is not in the right location for the gauge, so there is no information about the amount at the measuring stations. This afternoon, Ho Chi Minh City is still experiencing intense heat.

In the South and Ho Chi Minh City today, the heat has increased slightly compared to the past 24 hours. There will be localized thunderstorms in the evening, mainly in small amounts. The highest temperature is commonly from 37-39 degrees Celsius, in some places it is above 39 degrees Celsius.

“The cause of the heat is due to the low pressure trough with an axis through the North connecting with the hot low pressure area that maintains strong activity. At high altitude, the subtropical high pressure with an axis through the South Central region operates stably,” Mr. Quyet said.
