Mr. Tran Van Muoi (living in Cay Xoai hamlet, Tan An commune, Vinh Cuu district) is one of the new individuals honored as an outstanding example of Dong Nai province in 2024. He is a pioneer in applying technology to production. agricultural export.

Mr. Muoi shared that before, he had a headache finding and hiring someone to take care of his 10-hectare grapefruit garden. However, from the end of 2021 until now, this grapefruit garden only needs 10 workers. The heaviest and most “difficult” tasks are all thanks to the unmanned aerial equipment worth nearly 600 million VND that he invested in and bought.

In 2023, more than 300 collectives and individuals will receive Certificates of Merit from the Organizing Committee of the Program for Promoting Initiative and Creativity in Work and Study; Good Farmers Contest applying scientific and technical advances to agricultural production; Contest for good teachers applying information technology in teaching; Award for Science and Technology Communication Products; Competition to learn about intellectual property law.

“Previously, when technology was not applied, spraying and fertilizing grapefruit gardens took a lot of labor, had low efficiency, and especially had the risk of affecting health, soil quality, and groundwater. . After careful research, I decided to buy a drone to reduce labor, costs, time, effort, and ensure health safety” – Mr. Muoi said.

In addition to using drones, Mr. Muoi also makes herbal pesticides and organic fertilizers to take care of the grapefruit garden. With the “help” of science and technology and the spirit of determination to make breakthroughs in production, Mr. Muoi’s grapefruit garden currently has a yield of 25-30 tons/hectare. Except for expenses, Mr. Muoi’s profit is 400 million VND/hectare.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Cong Chinh (residing in Binh Xuan 2 hamlet, Xuan Phu commune, Xuan Loc district) succeeded with the seed trimmer he created. This solution has excellently won first prize in the Good Farmers Contest applying scientific and technical advances to agricultural production in Dong Nai province in 2023.

Mr. Chinh shared that he was determined to create a corn trimming machine to free up labor for himself, his family members and farmers. The machine can sow all types of seeds of different sizes on many types of terrain. Every day, this device can sow more than 1 hectare of land, equal to 10 people doing it manually in 2 days, giving almost absolute accuracy. From there, ensuring farmers’ health, improving labor productivity, and shortening seeding time compared to before.

Continuous innovation

In order to take advantage of available medicinal resources and create products that treat coughs, phlegm, respiratory infections, and bronchitis, the group of authors Nguyen Viet Cuong and Vo Van Lenh (Faculty of Pharmacy, Lac Hong University) ) has researched, extracted, and prepared a melt-in-your-mouth film product containing ivy leaf extract. This is one of 43 projects winning the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2022.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong said that the author group has carefully researched information related to ivy leaves and performed many tests to produce a highly standardized product. Oral soluble film is a thin, hydrophilic polymer film containing active ingredients, administered by placement in the oral cavity. This film will then stick and dissolve immediately in the oral cavity, releasing the active ingredient, which is quickly absorbed through the mucosa in the oral cavity without the need for water.

The product has the opportunity to develop in the medicine and functional food market, making medicine use in children simpler and more convenient.

At Ngo Quyen Middle School (Long Khanh city), Mr. Vu Son Lam (Physical Education teacher) has been cultivating scientific and technical creativity for students.
