(DN)- On April 26, in Bien Hoa city, the 2nd Congress of Vietnam-US Friendship Association of Dong Nai province, term 2024-2029, took place.

In the program, 146 official delegates representing 300 members of the Vietnam – United States Friendship Association of the province focused on evaluating the results of the past term; Contribute ideas to the Association’s operating direction for the next 5 years. The Congress also conducted consultations to elect an executive committee with 16 members and elected Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Committee Dao Van Phuoc as Chairman of the Vietnam – United States Friendship Association of Dong Nai province for the 2024-2029 term.

On this occasion, 19 individuals and groups who made positive contributions to the Association’s work in the past term were awarded certificates of merit by the Vietnam – America Association Central Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee.

Mr. Bui The Giang highly appreciated the people-to-people exchange activities that the Vietnam – United States Friendship Association of the province has carried out. In addition, Mr. Bui The Giang also suggested three key people-to-people diplomacy contents that the Vietnam-US Friendship Association in the province needs to aim for, including: strengthening Vietnam-US people-to-people exchanges in the field of culture. , science and technology, education; Strengthen relationships with US government and non-governmental organizations; Strengthen the mobilization of foreign non-governmental resources to carry out social security work.

According to Acting Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Tan Duc, US businesses have 33 projects with a capital investment of nearly 330 million USD in Dong Nai. In addition, Dong Nai province and US localities have signed a memorandum of understanding and an international cooperation agreement at the provincial level. Particularly, the province’s businesses also have good, enthusiastic and experienced partners in the United States.
