(ANTV) – On April 25, the People’s Court of Bac Kan province opened the first instance trial of the criminal case against defendant Tran Duc Duong and his accomplices for the crime of “Receiving bribes”.
According to the indictment, in the years 2020, 2021 and 2022, Tran Duc Duong, as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Bac Kan Registration Joint Stock Company (Registration Center 97-01D), instructed Directed and agreed with Hoang Huy Truong, Deputy Director of the Company, inspectors and professional staff to accept bribes from inspection customers, ignoring errors of not meeting inspection conditions to issue inspection certificates. motor vehicles and specialized machines against the law, each time receiving money from 150,000 VND to 1,500,000 VND from a total of 997 customers who came for registration. The total amount of bribes the defendants received was nearly 334 million VND.
At the trial, the defendants honestly testified and admitted their crimes. The trial panel sentenced the defendant: Tran Duc Duong to 4 years in prison, an additional fine of 50,000,000 VND; Hoang Huy Truong 3 years and 6 months in prison, additional fine of 40,000,000 VND.
The remaining defendants each received sentences ranging from 2 years in prison to 3 years and 6 months in prison. At the same time, collect the amount of money the defendants benefited from receiving bribes to fund state funds.
