Currently, Mr. Tuan’s durian garden has also been recognized by Cat Tien District People’s Committee as meeting model garden standards; A common growing area code is issued to serve origin traceability when exporting.

Mr. Pham Van Binh – Vice Chairman of Nam Ninh Commune People’s Committee shared that Nam Ninh is a commune with quite complex terrain with interwoven low hills and mountains. Faced with that reality, the Party Committee and commune authorities have researched and based on natural conditions, climate and soil to identify key crops; Among them, fruit trees such as durian and grapefruit are the right direction.

Since then, the locality has promoted propaganda and mobilized people to convert ineffective farming land areas to produce these crops.

On the other hand, since 2020, the Party Committee and authorities of Nam Ninh commune have had a policy of transforming the crop structure and included this content in the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2020 – 2025 term. From 2022 until now, Nam Ninh commune has a total area of ​​cashew trees of 1,071 hectares, a decrease of 115 hectares. People have converted this area to crops such as durian, 41 hectares, bringing the total durian area to 60.15 hectares; orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, jackfruit, star apple 4.2 hectares, bringing the total area to 14.55 hectares; rubber 17 hectares, bringing the total area to 19.3 hectares; forestry trees 21.15 hectares (oil, rosewood, rosewood, sandalwood); 10.3 hectares of raw material trees (range of bamboo); Acacia 18.35 hectares, bringing the total area to 91.89 hectares. For durian trees, Nam Ninh commune has built and been granted 6 planting area codes.

The effectiveness brought about by converting crop structure has helped many households in Nam Ninh commune increase their income and improve their lives.

According to the review results, it is expected that by the end of June 2023, the commune’s poverty rate will decrease to 4.42%; Of which, the rate of poor households in ethnic minority areas is 5.88%.
