Ba Ria – Vung Tau signed a cooperation agreement with Sanjo city, Japan

The Sanjo project has been implemented since 2019, with funding from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) worth 1.9 million USD, and has achieved significant achievements. With close coordination between the Department of Industry and Trade of Ba Ria – Vung Tau and the Consortium of 4 Japanese enterprises, the project selected 5 model enterprises of the province to participate and sign a cooperation agreement.

Despite facing challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sanjo project has accomplished its goals. One of the outstanding achievements is the production of products under the common brand of the Tsubame-Sanjo and Ba Ria – Vung Tau regions, including 2 hand saw products, 2 kitchen knife products and 3 beauty products.

In addition, the project also provides technical and environmental support, management skills training for small and medium-sized enterprises in the province, and at the same time trains and guides civil servants and officials of the Industry and Trade sector to build solutions and planning policies to support businesses.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, Vice Chairman of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized the importance of continuing to apply knowledge and experience from the Sanjo project to advise on policies and programs to support small businesses. and in the province in an effective and practical way. He also requested the Department of Industry and Trade to manage, exploit and use the aid assets handed over for the right purpose and effectively.

Mr. Ryo Takizawa – Mayor of Sanjo City expressed his belief that the connection between companies of the two localities has been firmly built and will continue to develop even after the project ends. In the future, Sanjo City hopes to continue supporting the development of businesses on both sides in areas such as human resource training and market development.

At the conference, representatives of Sanjo city handed over machinery, equipment and products of the Sanjo project to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province for management. At the same time, the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and the government of Sanjo city also implemented an action program and signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing friendly relations and cooperation in the period 2024 – 2026, opening up new opportunities. new opportunity for economic and cultural development between the two localities in the future.
