For more than 2 months now, when the wells of people in the village have dried up, people in Duc Hung village, Ia nan commune, Duc Co district, Gia Lai province have had to buy water for daily use. With a cost of about 100,000 VND per cubic meter of water just for bathing and washing, eating and drinking requires buying bottled water at a higher cost, so people’s daily activities face many difficulties during this peak period of heat.

To promptly ensure enough water for people’s daily life, the local government has urgently drilled more deep wells, along with the support of units of the 15th Army standing in the area to mobilize local resources. Conveniently, manpower transports water from other places to serve people. With an average of 3 to 5 vehicle crews per day, the mobile water supply points of Company 72, Army Corps 15 provide from 40 to 50m3 of clean water per day to people.

In the Central Highlands, the weather is still extreme and the drought is forecast to be long and complicated. In addition to the initiative from the local government in fighting drought and ensuring people’s lives, there is also the cooperation of military units standing in the area. In particular, Army Corps 15 is clearly demonstrating its role towards ethnic minorities in the border areas.
