According to the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects of Tien Giang province, Tan Thanh bridge has a main bridge length of about 359 m, including 9 spans; Bridge width 9 m, design load HL93, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structure, 183 m long bridge access road with asphalt structure. The road leading to the bridge is about 182 m long, connecting to district road 84D, with a total approved investment of about 145 billion VND; Of which, the construction cost is about 113 billion VND. This bridge was constructed over a period of 12 months.

The construction of Tan Thanh bridge brings a lot of meaning. Head of the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board of Tien Giang province, Tran Minh Trung, said that the project’s goal is to gradually complete a synchronous and smooth traffic network, connecting with provincial road 877B. ; create favorable traffic conditions for people, enhance the capacity to transport goods and passengers in the region; ensure security and national defense and contribute to local socio-economic development; At the same time, gradually improve infrastructure, contributing to building Tan Phu Dong district to meet new rural district standards.

A few days ago, Tien Giang province also held a construction ceremony for Tan Phong bridge to erase the “land of obstacles” of this island. Tan Phong Bridge has a total investment of more than 239 billion VND; Of which, the construction cost is more than 137 billion VND. According to the design, the main bridge part has a length of more than 359 m, including 9 spans. Bridge gauge is 9 m wide, vertical clearance is 7 m, horizontal clearance is 30 m, design load HL93. The road leading to the bridge has a total length of more than 1,400 m; Axle design load 10 tons. Road surface width 7 m, road base width 9 m. Asphalt pavement structure on crushed stone foundation; Arrange lighting systems on bridges and roads leading to bridges, and traffic safety systems.

The recent opening of Tan Thanh bridge and construction of Tan Phong bridge have brought great significance not only to the people of Tan Thanh commune, Tan Phu Dong district or also to the people of Tan Phong island, but also created conditions economic connection with other localities inside and outside the province. This is also one of the important achievements in focusing investment in transport infrastructure in Tien Giang province in recent times. Because transport infrastructure investment is considered one of the important breakthroughs identified in the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 – 2025.

Referring to this factor, Standing Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Dung said that the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025 continues to identify transport infrastructure as one of the a key, breakthrough, and strategically significant step in the province’s socio-economic development orientation during the term.

Implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress of Tien Giang province, the People’s Committee of Tien Giang province has a policy of prioritizing investment in synchronous transport infrastructure. The province has been focusing on investing in the construction of many important transport projects to create driving force for socio-economic development of the province. Specifically, Tien Giang province’s total public investment capital for the 2021-2025 period for the Transport sector is about VND 9,615 billion, accounting for 37.8% of the total medium-term public investment capital for the 2021-2025 period. In particular, investing in bridges to connect and serve the people’s transportation needs and socio-economic development on islands in the province continues to be identified as a key focus.

According to Vice Chairman Tran Van Dung, in 2022-2023, Tien Giang province has invested in 2 more large bridges in Cai Be district with a total investment of about 232 billion VND (Vam Cai Thia bridge and My Duc Tay bridge). . At the same time, Tien Giang province continues to invest in two large bridges with a total investment of more than 384 billion VND across Tan Thanh islet (Tan Phu Dong district) and Tan Phong bridge across Tan Phong islet (Cai Lay district).

As for Thoi Son Island, the Central Government invested in the Rach Mieu Bridge connecting Tien Giang province and Ben Tre province through Thoi Son Island. Thus, after Tan Phong and Tan Thanh bridges are completed, only Loi Quan island (Tan Phu Dong district) remains in the province, which will be invested in as a bridge in combination with the coastal road project connecting Tien Giang province and Tien Giang province. Ben Tre province and Tan Long island (belonging to My Tho city) will be considered and invested in at the appropriate time.

Through many efforts and mobilization from many different resources, recently Tien Giang province has focused on many key transportation projects, bringing great significance, contributing to socio-economic development, improve people’s lives.
