On the morning of April 26, Thanh Tri District Police (Hanoi) invited Mr. MHM (a reporter for the electronic newspaper VnExpress) to the headquarters to organize field experiments on the case of Mr. M. and Mr. NVC (a reporter for VTV Times). was assaulted by a group of people in Viet Yen village, Ngu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district.
The experiment had the participation of Thanh Tri District Police, representatives of Thanh Tri District People’s Procuracy, two related subjects: Do Manh Hoang and Tran Van Duc (both 46 years old, in Ngu Hiep commune) and Mr. MHM
Mr. NVC is still being treated at the hospital after being assaulted.

Previously, on the night of April 23 and early morning of April 24, Thanh Tri District Police (Hanoi) received a report of an intentional injury incident that occurred in Viet Yen village, Ngu Hiep commune. The victims are Mr. NVC (reporter for VTV Times) and MHM (reporter for VnExpress electronic newspaper).
According to reports from two victims, on the evening of April 23, Mr. C. and Mr. M. received news of a factory fire in Viet Yen village. After contacting the authorities, two reporters were instructed to enter the fire scene for operational purposes.
However, when two reporters were using personal phones to record the fire, both at two different times and locations were suddenly attacked by a group of three subjects, hindering their work.
This group insulted, threatened, and hit reporter C. on the head, causing bleeding…; strangled, kicked… reporter M. Some of the two victims’ property, such as phones, were snatched, thrown or broken by the subjects during the assault.
Immediately afterward, two reporters went to the police headquarters to report and were then given first aid at the hospital.

On April 24, the Hanoi People’s Committee issued a document examining and processing press information reflecting that two journalists and reporters were assaulted while working in Thanh Tri district.
The Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee assigned Thanh Tri District People’s Committee to preside and coordinate with the City Police and relevant units to urgently check and clarify the reported information; Strictly handle violations (if any); Respond to the press according to regulations and report to the City People’s Committee on implementation results before April 27.
On the same day, Thanh Tri district police summoned two suspects, Do Manh Hoang and Tran Van Duc.
