Subject Duong Hong Hieu used social network accounts to post a lot of untrue content, seriously affecting the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Kien Giang province.
On the morning of April 26, the Police Investigation Agency, Kien Giang Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the defendant and temporarily detained Duong Hong Hieu (born in 1978, residing at house number 78 Huynh Man Dat, Group 13, Quarter 1, Vinh Lac ward, Rach Gia city) on the crime of “Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe on the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals” specified in Clause 2 , Article 331, Penal Code.
The above decisions have been approved by the People’s Procuracy at the same level.
According to investigation records, from 2020 until now, subject Duong Hong Hieu has used social network accounts named “Duong Hong Hieu,” “Duong Hieu” and “Phu Dung to accuse himself” of posting many illegal content. true, fabricated, slandered, distorted, insulted honor and dignity, seriously affecting the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Kien Giang province and many dignitaries in the Executive Board of the Church.
With the evidence collected, the Police Investigation Agency and Kien Giang Provincial Police decided to prosecute the defendant and temporarily detain Duong Hong Hieu.
Previously, Duong Hong Hieu was invited to work many times by the authorities and made a commitment not to commit the same behavior again, but after that Hieu still disregarded the law and repeated the violation.
Authorities continue to investigate and consolidate records to handle subjects according to the provisions of law./.
