From the beginning of 2024 until now, in TT-Hue province, there have been 7 forest fires that damaged about 9 hectares of forest. The area of ​​forest fires has decreased compared to the same period in 2023 because before entering the hot season, the authorities coordinated to collect vegetation under the forest canopy with an area of ​​about 1,200 hectares across the province to reduce causative materials. forest fire.

Some fire-fighting machinery and equipment have been pre-installed on cars, other fire-fighting vehicles have also been prepared, and forces to respond to forest fires when they occur are also ready. These are urgent measures to initially handle forest fires that are at increased risk during this year’s hot season.

At this time, propagandizing people living along the forest edge and forest owners to raise awareness to prevent forest fires is a job regularly carried out by forest rangers. At the same time, forest rangers are stationed on guard towers to observe and detect forest fires, promptly handle them as quickly as possible, and limit the spread of forest fires on a large scale.

The entire forest area of ​​TT-Hue province is about 306,000 hectares, of which 205,000 hectares are natural forests, the remaining more than 100,000 hectares are planted forests, this is an area with a very high risk of forest fires, the main cause is people. Careless handling of vegetation and burning of votive papers in tombs causes forest fires, accounting for nearly 80%. During the hot season, if a forest fire occurs, it can easily spread on a large scale, so people need to raise awareness to protect the forest.
