On April 26, Mr. Ho Sy Dung, Chairman of Truong Thi Ward People’s Committee (Vinh City, Nghe An) said that during the process of renovating drainage ditches in the area, the construction unit suddenly discovered an intact bomb. detonator.

Previously, at about 2:25 p.m. on April 25, the construction unit of the renovation of the drainage ditch on Dinh Bat Tuy street (in block 14, Truong Thi ward) suddenly discovered an explosive material (suspected to be a bomb).

Immediately afterwards, the construction unit notified the local authorities. Vinh City Military Command then sent specialized forces to survey.

Through inspection, this is a bomb (equivalent to 340kg) left over from the war, 41cm in diameter, 110cm long, with fuse and tail intact, very dangerous. The discovery location is 1.2m underground.

The authorities have zoned in and placed dangerous warning signs, and sent people to be on alert 24/7 and stop construction activities at the construction site.

“On the morning of April 26, the bomb was safely processed and transported to another place by the engineering force in coordination with local authorities,” Mr. Dung added.
