For the same crime, defendant Truong Ngoc Diep was sentenced to life in prison by the court.

According to the jury, the indictment of the Supreme People’s Procuracy is the right person, the right crime. The defendants committed crimes that were particularly dangerous to society and committed multiple crimes, so they need the most severe punishment.

According to the indictment, at 10:00 a.m. on May 14, 2022 on Hung Lan – Hau Lan street, Hau Lan hamlet, Ba Diem commune, Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City, the Police Department’s working group investigated crimes related to drug (C04), the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the authorities to discover that Truong Ngoc Diep, riding a Toyota Innova car, was delivering drugs to Doan Ky Tam on a motorbike. Evidence confiscated at the scene was about 30kg of various drugs.

Through the process of struggle, the investigation agency determined: During the period from April 5, 2022 to May 14, 2022, in the Vietnam – Cambodia border area in Phuoc Chi commune, Trang Bang town , Tay Ninh province, defendants Nguyen Van Thom, Du Thanh Thuy, Doan Van Binh, Doan Ky Tam, Truong Ngoc Diep, Nguyen Hoai Phong and Tran Manh Phi used many different phone numbers to exchange and contact. with Cambodian subjects illegally transporting 179.5 kg of assorted drugs from Cambodia to Tay Ninh. Then continue to transport to Ho Chi Minh City to receive wages.

The wages for illegally transporting drugs were paid by Cambodian subjects through wire transfers, from many different bank accounts to the defendants’ accounts.

The indictment identifies Nguyen Van Thom and Du Thanh Thuy as having the main role as organizers, masterminds, leaders, and commanders of the crime; The remaining defendants are accomplices with the role of practitioners and active assistants.

Defendant Du Thanh Thuy benefited 2.98 billion VND; Nguyen Van Thom benefited 1,400 USD, while the remaining defendants benefited from 2 million to 1.05 billion VND.
