On April 26, the Police Investigation Agency of Kien Giang Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the defendant and temporarily detained Duong Hong Hieu (46 years old, residing in Vinh Lac ward, Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province) for the crime. “Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe on the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals” stipulated in Clause 2, Article 331, Penal Code.
According to investigation records, from 2020 until now, defendant Duong Hong Hieu has used social network accounts named “Duong Hong Hieu”, “Duong Hieu” and “Phu Dung to accuse himself” to post many content. content that is untrue, fabricated, slandered, distorted, insulted honor and dignity, seriously affecting the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Kien Giang province and many individual monks and dignitaries. in the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Kien Giang province.
With the evidence collected, the Kien Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency decided to prosecute the defendant and temporarily detain Duong Hong Hieu.
Previously, Duong Hong Hieu was invited to work many times by the authorities and made a commitment not to commit the same behavior again, but after that Hieu still disregarded the law and repeated the violation.
Currently, the case is continuing to be investigated, consolidating records to handle subject Hieu according to the provisions of law.
