Burning vegetation in dry weather leads to a great risk of forest fires

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Nong province, due to prolonged heat, there have been 22 forest fires in the province, including 16 pine forest fires. In the first 3 months of 2024, the entire Dak Nong province had 43 cases of illegal deforestation with a damaged forest area of ​​nearly 12 hectares. Compared to the same period, there were 31 fewer cases, and the damaged forest area also decreased by 4.5 hectares.

Previously, as the Electronic Newspaper Natural Resources and Environment reported, many areas of young pine forests along National Highway 28 and some areas of pine forests along National Highway 14 were also burned. According to the assessment of the authorities, burning vegetation during dry weather combined with wind is very dangerous and has a great risk of causing fires.
