Discovered a new 2km long cave, with stalactites and an underground river system

On the afternoon of April 26, Mr. Hoang Trong Duc, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province, confirmed that a new cave had just been discovered in this locality.

Through initial surveys, this new cave is 2km long, the cave entrance is 8m high, 9m wide, has 4 cave branches with 100m of dry cave, the rest is water cave. The highest place inside the cave is about 35m, with an underground river system. In particular, in the cave there are many large and beautiful stalactites

Local people have temporarily named this cave Lu cave. From Sat village, Truong Son commune, it takes about 1 hour to walk to Lu cave.

According to Mr. Duc, this locality will organize a survey and verification trip to have a specific report on the location of the cave in which area in the natural forest, and who manages and protects this forest area.

After the survey, Truong Son commune will have a basis to report and propose tourism development plans (if any) to superiors.

Previously, in mid-2023, a new cave was also discovered in Dieu Do village, Truong Son commune. The cave is more than 1.5km long, the highest point of the cave is about 30m. The cave has many beautiful stalactites and is named Son Nu cave.
