This is an activity in response to the 49th anniversary of the National Unification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu campaign’s complete victory (May 7, 1954 – May 7, 2024). May 2024).

During the automatic test run of metro train No. 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien), the Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR) was honored to welcome special guests, a group of Dien Bien Phu veterans to experience .

Here, the image that touched many people was the group of Dien Bien Phu veterans. Even though most were over 90 years old, had white hair, and no longer moved quickly, everyone had a bright smile, eagerly waiting for the trip. The train rolled.

Participating in the journey of experiencing metro train No. 1 with his wife, even though he is 90 years old, Mr. Duong Chi Ky is still agile and excited to share that he was surprised by the image of a modern train, much different from his imagination. your.

He said he once participated in combat at Regiment 174 of Army Group 316 in the battle of Hill A1, Dien Bien Phu campaign.

“Today, I and the Dien Bien Phu veterans are very honored to be invited by the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City to experience the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro train line. I find the project very beautiful and modern. This is a new type of transportation that helps people travel conveniently.

Now is the era of knowledge, 4.0 technology and of young people. Therefore, I hope young people will grasp and promote their qualifications, abilities, and intelligence to serve their homeland and country, making more modern projects like this metro line…”, veteran Duong Chi Ky said.

And Mr. Trinh Huu Can (93 years old) smiled brightly and joined the experience train. He said that he had just been invited by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to attend a meeting to celebrate the 49th anniversary of National Unification Day.

Today, he had the opportunity to go with 12 soldiers of Dien Bien Phu to experience metro train number 1. Thereby, he could see that the Party and State always remember the officers and soldiers of the past.

He shared: “I learned about metro number 1 through the media and wished to try it once. Today that wish has come true. This metro line is very luxuriously designed, with comfortable seats. From the train I looked through the window, easily observing the surrounding scenery, high-rise buildings, crowded residential areas to see the transformation of Ho Chi Minh City and the country.

Metro No. 1 will operate as soon as possible

Mr. Hoang Mai Tung – Director of Project Management Board 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien), under the Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR) said that the testing and safety assessment of trains on the metro line No. 1 will be conducted from 2023 to present.

Accordingly, the testing process is carried out according to strict Japanese and European standards to ensure the highest level of safety when put into operation.

In recent days, the Hitachi contractor’s metro line No. 1 trains have been running completely in ATO/ATP automatic mode. To be able to conduct train running tests in this mode, the devices were previously tested through steps such as: at the factory, when installed individually, testing the interface between devices and testing Experience integrating multiple systems simultaneously.

The test of running trains in ATO/ATP mode is to complete and final integrate systems such as signal systems, trains, platform gates, information, and telecommunications.

To carry out this automatic test, the contractor mobilized 7 trains to run simultaneously from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day with an interval of about 10 minutes/trip.

In parallel with the testing process, practical training for metro train staff is also being conducted.

After that, the project will move into the trial operation phase for about 2 months before being officially put into operation.

Ho Chi Minh City exempts 100% of ticket prices for the first 3 months of operating metro No. 1Within 3 months from when metro line No. 1 is put into commercial operation, passengers will receive 100% free fares when traveling by train.
