Thanks to the investment resources of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, many investment projects for the poor and near-poor have been implemented effectively in 2023 and the first months of 2024. Specifically, communes with special difficulties Beach and coastal areas have been supported with investment in socio-economic infrastructure development. Four extremely difficult communes in coastal areas in the province have invested in and maintained 36 projects including: traffic, education, irrigation, market, and cultural buildings. Solid roads, markets, in-field canal systems and spacious schools… invested in and built have been changing the lives of people in coastal areas.

Along with that, the implementation of models to diversify livelihoods and develop poverty reduction models in localities has achieved many positive results, helping many poor people have access to “necessary conditions”. “Give a fishing rod to catch a fish” to develop the family economy, contributing to improving and enhancing the quality of life. To date, localities have implemented and supported 97 models including 4 crop models, 82 livestock models, 5 non-agricultural models for 815 poor households, 996 near-poor households, and 449 newly escaped households. poor, disabled households… participate in the model.

Regarding the development of vocational education and sustainable employment, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Binh province said that workers in especially difficult communes, coastal and coastal areas have If you need to work abroad, you will be supported with money for vocational training and vocational skills supplementation. To date, we have provided consulting and training support for 200 workers working abroad under labor contracts in extremely difficult communes, coastal and coastal areas. “Labor export has opened up a new path to escape poverty, many households with labor exporters have become well-off households,” assessed the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Binh province.

In addition, in the information poverty reduction sub-project, Quang Binh organized training to improve the capacity of information and communications staff for more than 1,500 participating delegates, thereby helping staff to work. Information and communication cooperation at the grassroots level is supported, new knowledge is enhanced, contributing to improving professional quality to propagate policies to the people more and more effectively.

Thanks to the implementation of many drastic and effective solutions, by the end of 2023, the multidimensional poverty rate, including both poor and near-poor households in the entire Quang Binh province is 8.06%, with 20,852 households. Of which, the rate of poor households is 4.05%, with a total of 10,473 households (down 0.95% compared to the end of 2022) reaching 119% of the planned target. The rate of near-poor households is 4.01%, with a total of 10,379 households (down 0.75% compared to the end of 2022) reaching 150% of the planned target.

Diversify credit sources for poor households

Focus on supporting loans for production development, diversifying credit sources for poor households, creating conditions for poor and near-poor households to access loans, programs and projects to develop production.
